June 20th 2006: Playing staff update
With other Ryman Premier Division sides beginning to piece together their teams for the forthcoming campaign, Bromley have agreed terms with
two more members of last season's squad as well as adding a promising young forward to the equation. Michael Power (pictured far left with
Manager, Mark Goldberg and Player Coach, Bobby Bowry) has signed on a one year deal from tenants, Cray Wanderers where he had caught the eye
with some versatile performances both up front and in midfield. Michael came through the ranks at Thamesmead Town where his prolific
strike-rate earned him a move to The Wands two summers ago.
Competing with Michael for a place up front will be Adrian Stone (pictured above with Mark Goldberg and Assistant Manager, Murray Jones) who has also put pen to paper. Adrian's first two spells at the Club were blighted by injury but he found form towards the end of the season, finishing with a closing-day brace at Wealdstone. Also committing his immediate future to The Lillywhites is midfielder, Gary Drewett who will be looking to add to his total of 209 appearances. Having originally agreed terms with the new management team, Barry Gardner has had a change of heart and will be dropping down a division to join Tooting & Mitcham United.
June 19th 2006: Situation vacant
The opportunity has arisen for a qualified physiotherapist to work for the Club on Saturday afternoons and Tuesday and Thursday evenings. The
ideal candidate will have experience with football related injuries and will be willing to play an active part in the pre-season fitness
programme. Interested parties should send their CV to the Club
at info@bromleyfc.net.
June 12th 2006: From the (new) dugout
Following the signing of Francis Duku, new Bromley manager, Mark Goldberg took time out from his busy schedule to answer a few questions.
Q: "With this being your first season as a manager and the Reading friendly only about a month away, how are you feeling?"
MG: "I am confident that we have prepared well and that I have an excellent team around me in Murray Jones, Bobby Bowry and of course our chairman, Jerry Dolke. I am therefore looking forward to my new role and excited about the prospect of measuring our new squad against the likes of Reading, whatever team they decide to bring to Bromley FC."
Q: "You've been adding to the squad at regular intervals, do you now have all the players you would like to start the season with?"
MG: "I am happy with all our signings and am confident that they will all compliment our existing squad. We are hoping to complete things next week with a left back, who is most highly thought of, to replace Colin Luckett who has decided to join our neighbours Cray Wanderers."
Q: "Have all the rumours flying around about the size of our budget made it difficult to sign players?"
MG: "We have made it very clear to each player that we have approached that they must ignore the rumours that we are able to throw big money at our squad next year. We explain that any such available money is to be invested into the facilities being the new function suite and 5-a-side pitches so that we can provide a sustainable revenue stream for the Club to build on for the future. Our budget is not going to be the biggest in the league by any means but all the players have accepted sensible terms with incentive win bonuses based on their belief in the future progress of Bromley FC on and off the field."
Q: "What are your aims for the coming season?"
MG: "Our minimum target is to reach the play offs, bearing in mind we have a number of new players who have to settle in and the whole team will need some time to work as a unit and to work effectively to our game plan."
The management team will be talking to the website on a regular basis throughout the season, if you have any questions you would like posed to them please email us at info@bromleyfc.net.

June 10th 2006: Duku deal done
Following lengthy negotiations the Club are delighted to announce the signing of the imposing Francis Duku (pictured left with Manager, Mark
Goldberg and Assistant Manager, Murray Jones) on a one year contract. The central defender was part of last season's Fisher Athletic team who
won promotion from the Ryman Premier Division, having previously achieved the same feat with Gravesend & Northfleet in 2002. After joining
The Fleet from Dulwich Hamlet in 2000 he made over 100 appearances before moving to Lewes in 2004, where he was named player of the year
during his only season with The Rooks.
June 6th 2006: From Jim Brown
On Wednesday the 31st May, my Uncle David (aged 80) unexpectedly passed away. As you all know he helped me in the club shop and with the
club raffle. His wife Mary and all our family will greatly miss him.
There will be a service and burial at St. Lukes Cemetary, Magpie Hall Lane, Bromley Common on Friday the 16th June, at 11am and afterwards at The Pickhurst Public House, Pickhurst Lane, Bromley. All are very welcome.
